The Vampiress took sanctuary in the woods, the place she could go and hunt without fear of being killed on the spot. She came here often as it gave her the peace she needed to clear her mind at least for now, that was her reasoning. She ran her hand down the oak tree; she was more or less plotting her next victim. She rarely if ever just turned someone for fun. They had to be useful. What good were a bunch of humans if they weren't at least useful in nature and better serve their purpose. It was easier to just drain them all dry and let them die in her opinion but she had stopped asking questions when she had gotten to plot out her victim's demise. Men were so easy most of the time; then again they were more feeble minded and had one track minds unlike the females.
She watched out over the edge of the woods into the lake waters; she knew better than to appear out of sorts in the area or anywhere around. She knew the resistance was hunting her just like she was them. She wasn't about to do what some of the more idiots around here did. 'Oh look I'm a vampire, I can kill you.. oh wait a devamper what?' Her term for them was "Kretyn". Being that her first language wasn't English made it even harder for her to blend in but she didn't care. She just sat there waiting and watching, becoming one with where she was standing in the darkness.

Siola stepped forward, her eyes narrowing. An alert had been raised at the watchtower earlier today. There was a vampire near by. At least, that was what she had been told. With her was a team of evolved and humans which had volunteered. It was the usual group that accompanied her on these routine checks around the forest when there had been an alert. 9 times out of 10 it was a false trail, and it was highly likely that this was also one of those times
They were nearing one of the smaller lake’s in the forest, one of the ones which was heavily populated with trees and mostly marshland, in the winter it was like an ice rink, and the number of broken bones which had to be treated was unbelievable. Siola wondered if people actually ever listened to her warnings, how one day a broken bone might not be able to be fixed. But that never seemed to stop them. Mind you, it was fun to slide around on the ice. Siola had been there a number of times herself with an old pair of ice skates which she had found in a attic of the old farm house.
Siola looked down as she walked, the leaves crunching under her feet. She had tied her hair up in a ponytail to stop it falling in front of her eyes as it was beginning to get annoyingly long. But hairdressers weren’t exactly common anymore. Like any person in a profession. They had either stayed in the city or been fed to the Vampires.
Siola crouched down all of a sudden. ‘Someone’s nearby.’ She said sharply, her voice low. Her mutter shut off the sounds of the others talking. ‘No one’s been out of camp today, have they?’ She asked the man to her right. Harry. He shook his head. ‘No one.’ He replied. Frowning, Siola touched the imprint of a shoe on the floor. It looked fresh, made only hours or maybe minutes ago. They were close, but where was the blood –sucker?

She heard voices nearby and she slid down into the River. She couldn't drown not really. Granted air was nice but she would just respawn somewhere else, and it wasn't usually a place she would chose. But she slid into the freezing waters. Not that it bugged her. It was still dark enough and lucky for her the river was secluded in the woods and didn't receive any direct moonlight. She let the river carry her downstream from the voices where she got out.
She was lucky to have already fed before their appearance she despised the resistance and right now she knew she was one of the very few vampires in the area; she knew when she was outnumbered. Fool and Idiot she was not, she knew the resistance was out to kill her. She had spent long enough learning about them when she defied her human kind and turned to help the Vampires in the first place. She kept herself quiet keeping her senses on the watch for more of those following her.

They stepped out from under the coverage of the trees, it was silent apart from the regular sounds of nature. The groups boots squelched on the mud as they walked, wondering where the Vampire had gone. Siola’s eyes darted around the small lake, before her brow furrowed into a frown, a mixture of annoyance and confusion.
‘Damn disappearing act again.’ One of the others muttered under their breath, although it seemed to be a shout in the stillness. Siola nodded reluctantly. They could of killed the Vamp, and that would have been another off the never ending list. ‘We still need to check the perimeter.’ Siola decided after a while, the leader in her stepping in. ‘Check for any signs of blood and disturbance. The other’s will be drawn to the smell so we need to be ready.’
She gingerly crouched down and pressed her hands to the mud. The shadows were calling out at her, it was that late. This was the time that evil lived in, grew the strongest element. In the day it was beyond useless, there was hardly any darkness to be found.
Siola walked around the edge of the lake, searching for any more footsteps, which could lead to the Vampires location, and ultimate death. There were a few fiber’s left on the ground from clothes, they were small and hardly noticeable, but, by the colour and feed, you could tell it was from a Vamp with an expensive taste in fashion.
Siola was stumped, the Vampire had been by the river but had then seemingly disappeared. Where had they gone?

She got back in the water then did the same thing several more times to toss them off her trail. She hated the water, the liquid bothered her. She didn't mind the fact that it was cold but the fact it was wet was her issue. She went to go hide in the tree tops in order to dry off so that she could keep a watch and see if anyone was coming. The last thing she needed was those genius' to catch up with her. She narrowed her eyes as she held onto the tree as she kept watching into the distance. She kept her eyes alert for anything that seemed out of the ordinary. She still had to get with the people who did this to her before someone killed her. (oh plah.. major fail way under word count I know :/ )
