''It's the end of the world as we know it (and I feel fine)“ R.E.M
Vampires:
These Vampires aren't really like your regular 'Dracula' and 'Twilight' kind, which were famous before the end of the world. For one, they don't sparkle in sunlight. But they do drink blood and can pass on the curse to their victims although, they can choose whether to give them the life of the Vampire, or to let them die.
Vampires can go out into the sunlight although it is uncomfortable for them, but it doesn't kill them or make them explode in any way. But direct sunlight can cause them minor injury. For example, burns and reduced healing time for a short period of time.
They don't have any type of special of power but this made up by their physical strength and speed which overalls that of the evolved humans's of the Resistance army. Their general running speed at a sprint is bordering on 35 mph, but this can only be kept up for at least 20 seconds for the strongest and oldest Vampires and at a regular speed is 28mph which can be kept up for a long amount of time.
They need to hunt every couple of days, and will hunt human’s in the city, or try and venture out into the forest to pick up the stragglers which are fighting there way to the home of the Resistance.
Where they originated from is only know to themselves, and even that had been kept as well kept secret from the lower ranking Vampires. They actually came from a mutated gene which evolved at around the time of the Aztec's, but wasn't fully developed and there were many failures in the development. The first fully developed Vampires came around on the date the world was supposed to end and the legend the Aztec's told was based around their first sighting of the very first Vampires.
Human's:
Pretty much your average human being which had been colonizing and walking the planet since their evolution from Apes. They have no special power and mostly rely on their instincts and their skill to create weapons to survive. Most of them live in the remains of the city of London. One of the most dangerous places around, every day could be their last as most of the time they can't tell that there is a Vampire right next to them, ready to hunt and kill.
If they become brave enough and believe the rumors, they begin the long and dangerous journey through the forest to get to a place where they believe they can be safe for eternity. Within this, there is a sort of truth, although, if they managed to show they are useful within the community of Resistance, they begin the long hard tasks of keeping the human race healthy, they need to work, by gathering or exploring the area, or working in the factories that litter the underground caves.
If they are bitten, they do get turned into Vampires, and slowly have to work their way to the top, but these turned humans are looked down upon by the Vamps, they are treated like slaves.
The Evolved:
The Evolved are humans. Well...they were, much like the Vampires, a gene triggered the change. They make up the army of the Resistance. A force against the Vampires which have taken away the city from the natives, the humans. They will fight at all costs to get it back. Each and every one of them had a power, which defines them, a power which bends their very destiny and their place in the community. All of the Evolved are masters in their own chosen weapon or method of combat, it is almost instinctual. Their other characteristics are basically human, apart from the fact they are a little stronger and have a larger amount of stamina compared to the humans. This is because of the many fights, they sometimes have to endure on raids to the city to help any survivors.
Traitors:
These people are Evolved that have turned to the Vampires for help, for many different reasons, maybe for safety, maybe for security for their human family. They are exactly the same as the Evolved, apart from instead of fighting the Vampires, they’re fighting the humans. Wanting to destroy them. These people are led by one Vampire to which they would give up their lives to help their masters. In a way, these people act as spies to the other side. Often being found lurking around with the Evolved unknown, reporting back to their waiting masters.
